William C. Taglieri

William "Butch" C. Taglieri, 84, of South Weymouth, MA, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Boston on June 11, 1942, and raised in Roxbury, Butch proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, reaching the rank of Lance Corporal at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Following his service, he pursued a lifelong career in the auto parts industry and married the love of his life, Ellen. Together, they settled in South Weymouth, raising their family and creating countless cherished memories.

Butch led a life filled with family, friendship, and simple pleasures. He enjoyed bowling, golf, and spending time at the family’s vacation home in New Hampshire, where many of his happiest moments were created. He especially treasured time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, building memories that will be cherished for generations.

Predeceased by his beloved wife, Ellen (Benner) Taglieri, Butch is lovingly survived by his children, Laurie DeMita and her husband, Michael, of Hanover; Paula Richards and her husband, Stephen, of Rockland; and Angela Strozewski and her husband, Michael, of New Hampshire. He was the cherished grandfather of Joseph, Maria, John, Nathan, Jacob, Elizabeth, Natalina, Jillian, and Benjamin, and the proud great-grandfather of Leddi, John, Jackson, and Noah. He is also survived by his brother, Stephen Taglieri, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his siblings, Michael Taglieri, Mary Porter, and Margaret Merlino.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 9:00–11:00 a.m. at C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant Street (Columbian Sq.), South Weymouth, Massachusetts 02190. A funeral home service will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Blue Hill Cemetery, 700 West Street, Braintree.
