Walter J. Lane

Walter J. Lane, age 85, of Weymouth passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022. Walter was raised and educated in Roxbury where he attended Saint Frances de Salles School. Walter married his wife, Ludmila (Lucy), in 1958. They started a family in Boston then settled in Weymouth in 1965 where they always remained in the family home.

Walter was a respiratory therapist at both Cardinal Cushing and Milton Hospitals for many years. His life revolved around his family and he especially enjoyed dining out with them. He had fond memories of summers on Cape Cod and for the last 50 years hosting friends and family at his backyard swimming pool. He enjoyed cheering on the Patriots and was always "Ready For Some Football." He loved a lively political discussion, staying up on the latest news and knowing all about current and past events.  

Walter was predeceased by his wife Ludmila (Lucy) Lane (Semionow) and sister Mary Lane. He is survived by his loving children Joe Lane and his significant other Allison Smith of Cohasset, Dennis (Max) Lane of CA, Heidi Lane-Webb and her husband Reese of Plymouth, his grandchildren Ryan, Eric, Tayler, Vanessa, and Vaughn, his great-grandchildren Tyler and Caspian, and his siblings Rita Alexanian, Timothy Lane, Sheila Rubino, and Daniel Lane. Walter is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visitation for Walter on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 from 9-11am in the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. A funeral service will take place in the funeral home at 11am immediately following the visitation. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth. At the conclusion of these services, the Lane family also invites you to join them in celebrating Walter's life at The Wonderland function room at the Mad Hatter restaurant 969 Washington Street (Rte 53) Weymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations in his loving memory to the Gary Sinese Foundation PO Box 40726 Nashville, TN 37204, would be greatly appreciated.
