Vivian Lee Willson of Weymouth passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025, at the age of 84. Vivian was born on June 22, 1940, in Weymouth to Hemel and Mary (McCarthy) Nickerson. She was raised and educated in Weymouth, graduating from Weymouth High School in 1958.
After graduation, Vivian worked for the telephone company, where she also worked alongside her husband Richard who she married after he returned from serving in the Coast Guard. She later spent many years in retail, always bringing her warmth and dedication to her work. Vivian was a spiritual person who deeply loved her family and took great joy in baking, cooking, and caring for those around her. She especially cherished visits to New Hampshire and Vermont, making beautiful memories in the countryside.
Vivian is survived by her children Richard E. Willson Jr., predeceased by his wife Kristina of Weymouth; Deborah Gatto and her husband Michael of Weymouth; Darlene F. Kral and her husband Robert of Weymouth; and Melissa Light of Weymouth. She was the proud grandmother of Brittany, Megan, Cody, Colby, Jessica, Stephen and Kyle. Vivian is also survived by her sibling Richard Nickerson, and was predeceased by her brothers Clifford Nickerson and Harvey Nickerson.
Vivian is remembered as a wonderful mother and a woman devoted to her family, whose kindness and loving spirit touched all who knew her.
Services will be held at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on May 6th at 11:30 AM.
