Shawna Brown, of Quincy, passed away on July 6, 2026, after a lifetime battle with addiction.
Born in Weymouth, Shawna spent her early childhood there before moving to Whitman, where she was raised and educated. She attended South Shore Vocational Technical High School where she focused on automotive repair. She also had a passion for cosmetology, enjoying hairstyling and cosmetics throughout her life.
Over the past year, Shawna had made remarkable strides in her recovery and personal health. She found strength and encouragement through the support groups she attended and the community she had become a part of, forming many meaningful friendships along the way. Those who knew Shawna will remember her for her kind and compassionate spirit. She had a tremendous heart, always looking beyond a person's struggles to see the good within them, and she never hesitated to offer a helping hand to someone in need. Her resilience, compassion, and hope touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Above all, Shawna cherished her family. She is survived by her five beloved children; her father and stepmother, Michael Brown and Missy, of North Carolina; her sister, Heather Rocco and her husband, Derek, of Rockland; and her brother, Stuart Hardie and his wife, Alexandra, of Whitman. Shawna was the niece of Bill Newell and his wife, Melissa, of Abington, and Michelle Newell of Weymouth. She was predeceased by her mother, Patricia (Newell) Hardie.
