Robert E Tradd

July 12, 1950 — October 16, 2023

Plymouth

Robert E. Tradd (“Bob”), 73, of Plymouth, passed away surrounded by family on October 16, 2023. Bob was born in Boston, raised and educated in South Boston, and graduated from Thompson Academy in 1967.  After high school, Bob went on to earn his Bachelors degree in History from Harvard University.  Bob married the love of his life, Sherry, in 1975 and the pair moved to Washington, DC where Bob worked for the Veteran’s Administration.  They eventually moved back to the Boston area and raised their family together in Southie.

Bob enjoyed reading and writing in his spare time. He loved to play trivial pursuit with his friends (and usually won!) and also loved playing chess and the game Go Fish with his grandchildren. He was an exceptional storyteller and had a never ending collection of dad jokes.

Bob is predeceased by his loving wife, Sherry Tradd (O'Neil). He is survived by his cherished children, Catherine Pecorella and her husband Michael, of Plymouth, and Lindsay Tradd and her partner Brian Chisholm, of Weymouth. He was adored by his grandchildren, Elias, Vivian, Emmet, Ava, and Noah. Bob will also be missed by his siblings, Stephen Tradd and his wife Elaine, of Foxboro, and Celine Knox and her husband George, of Southborough. He leaves behind many cousins, neices, and nephews who will all miss his endearing presence.  He loved his group of childhood friends like family, and looked forward to their Saturday night dinners together.

A ceremony of close family and friends will be held at Blue Hills Cemetery in Braintree on Thursday, October 26 at 10:45 am.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Bob to a charity of your choice.
