Robert Arthur Stevens Sr.

d. Jul 31, 2026

Weymouth, MA

Robert Arthur Stevens, Sr., age 80, of Weymouth, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026. Born on May 2, 1946, in Dorchester, Bob was raised and educated in Weymouth and graduated from Sacred Heart High School with the Class of 1964. As the second eldest of 9 siblings, he cultivated a strong work ethic and caring nature. He proudly served in the United States Army Reserves, and in 1964, he met the love of his life, Jane Armstrong. They married in 1967 and raised their family in Dorchester and then Weymouth. Bob and Jane remained devoted throughout 58 years of marriage, 4 children, 14 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

Bob built a successful career in the financial services industry, attending Northeastern University at night while working full-time, eventually becoming a business owner when he started his own company, Stevens Financial Services, of which 3 of his children were so proud to join and work together providing accounting, tax, and fiduciary services to individuals, businesses, charitable organizations, and trusts. The honesty and devotion to his work were remarkable and always represented their interests with tremendous honesty and care.

He loved fishing, golfing, boating, and word games, and spending peaceful hours lovingly tending to his fishpond and garden. Most of all, he loved Jane and their family. They shared treasured memories together, often with cousins, including ski vacations, car trips around New England, summers at Cape Cod and Lake Winnipesaukee, and eventually wintering in Sarasota, Florida.

Bob also had a remarkable gift for making others feel valued. His sincere compliments, kind words, friendly and fun personality, and genuine interest in those around him left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. In addition to his four children, many others viewed him as a father figure as well. He will forever be remembered as an inspiration for the values of hard work, honesty, fun, and most of all, kindness.

Bob was the beloved husband of Jane L. (Armstrong) Stevens of Weymouth. He was the loving father of Lauren Stevens and partner Ed Richard of Hingham, Melissa McKinnon and her husband Terry, of Marshfield, Robert Stevens, Jr. and his wife Audra, of Hanover, and Jill Norton and her husband, Mike of Braintree. He was the cherished grandfather to Samantha, Tyler, Rebecca, Kyle, Joshua, Ryan, Jaxson, Paisley, Emma, Gabriel, Robert, Isaac, Grace, and Margaret, and the proud great-grandfather of Maverick and Noelle. Son of the late Richard Sr. and Margaret Stevens, and loving son-in-law of the late Ethel and Adna Armstrong, he was the dear brother of Richard, David, John, Mark, James, Lisa, and Daniel Stevens, and the late Thomas Stevens. He also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, as well as his beloved dog, Max.
