In Loving Memory of Richard James Trudeau, Jr.
Richard James Trudeau, Jr., age 69, passed away November 3rd after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, generosity, and unconditional love that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Richard was a kind, giving, and nonjudgmental person who loved his family with everything he had. He had a heart for helping others and dedicated over 25 years of his life working for Father Bill's, where he spent his days doing what came naturally to him: helping those in need. He believed in giving people a chance, showing compassion, and treating everyone with dignity and respect.
One of Richard's greatest personal accomplishments was his sobriety. He proudly celebrated 34 years sober, a milestone that meant more to him than words could ever express. He was incredibly proud of how far he had come, and rightfully so. His strength, determination, and commitment to his recovery were an inspiration.
Above all else, Richard loved his family. His nieces and nephews held a very special place in his heart, and he cherished each and every one of them. Over the past year, he developed an especially close bond with his great-nephew JD, who visited him weekly. Those visits and the special connection they shared brought Richard so much happiness and created memories that will be treasured forever.
Richard was predeceased by his father, Richard James Trudeau, Sr. He is survived by his loving mother, Ann Trudeau; his son Joseph Trudeau; his brother Peter Trudeau and sister-in-law Cheryl Trudeau; his brother Marc Trudeau; and his sister Pamala Lauber, who lovingly cared for him throughout the past year as he faced his battle with cancer. He also leaves behind four nieces, two nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews who will forever cherish their memories of him.
Richard's life was a reminder that being a good person isn't about judging others, but about showing up, giving back, and loving people wholeheartedly. He gave so much of himself to others, and his kindness touched more lives than he probably ever realized.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His 34 years of sobriety, his dedication to helping others, and, most importantly, the love he gave so freely will never be forgotten.
Rest peacefully, Richard. You fought hard, you made us proud, and you will forever be loved.
