Phyllis Bettle

            Phyllis M. (Warnock) Bettle, age 87, of S. Weymouth passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 with her loving family by her side. Phyllis was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend to many.

            Phyllis was born in Dorchester MA to the late Harold and Frances Warnock.  She was also the stepdaughter of the late Charles Lutz.  She was predeceased by her sister Audrey Anagnos and her husband Theodore.  In 1956 she married her beloved husband, Bob. Together they raised their family in Weymouth for many years.

             Painting was her passion and many of her pieces are displayed in both her home as well as those of all her children.  Phyllis was a gracious hostess who enjoyed gathering her family for Thanksgiving and Christmas in her Weymouth home as well as all the summer holidays at her home on Lake Wequaquet in Centerville MA.  Phyllis was known for her great sense of humor and her thoughtfulness towards friends and family.  

            Phyllis is survived by her beloved husband Robert Bettle of S. Weymouth, her loving children Karen O’Connor and her husband Brian of Milford, CT, Paul and his wife Paula of Kingston, Doug and his wife Mary of Hull, and Thomas and his wife Rebecca of Pembroke, her cherished grandchildren Lynn, Robert, Michelle, Monica, Caroline, Jack, Matthew, and Lynne, and her great-grandchildren Declan, Isabelle, Charlie, and Camille.

            Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Phyllis on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 9:30-11:30am in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA 02190. A funeral service will take place in the funeral home immediately following the visitation at 11:30am. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Holbrook. Donations may be made to the Glastonbury Abbey at www.GlastonburyAbbey.org.
