Philip R. Brooks

Philip R. Brooks, of South Weymouth, Massachusetts, passed away suddenly at his home on June 30, 2026. He was born in 1952.

Phil was raised and educated in Weymouth and graduated from Weymouth High School with the Class of 1970. He continued his education at the University of New Hampshire, where he earned his bachelor's degree in 1974.

Phil was a dedicated and hardworking man throughout his career. He was a longtime employee of Pearl Meats and had previously worked for Merrimen Manufacturing.

Those who knew Phil will remember his thoughtful and creative nature. He loved spending time outdoors and had a unique ability to think deeply about the world around him. Landscaping was one of his greatest passions, and he took exceptional pride in maintaining his lawn, which was always beautifully cared for and admired by neighbors and friends alike. His attention to detail, love of nature, and quiet creativity reflected the kind of person he was.

Philip is survived by his loving brother, Peter Brooks of South Weymouth. He was predeceased by his brother, Bruce Brooks, and by his beloved parents, Roland Brooks and Rosamond (Henry) Brooks.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant Street (Columbian Sq.), South Weymouth, Massachusetts 02190. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in South Weymouth.
