Pauline L. Conley-Schmoock

Pauline L. Conley-Schmoock, of Weymouth, passed away on October 26, 2026, at the age of 85.

Pauline was born on August 4, 1941, the daughter of the late John P. Conley Sr. and Ann E. (Connolly) Conley. She was raised and educated in South Boston, graduating from Archbishop Cardinal Cushing High School in 1959. After working many years at State Street Bank, Pauline became a corrections officer for the Massachusetts Department of Correction and was employed for over 10 years in the Norfolk and Walpole prison systems. She earned the Sharpshooter designation for her marksmanship during this time. Later she worked with her dear friend and aunt, Bridget Connolly (aka Ronnie, aka The Auntie), running stalls at flea markets and operating a second hand shop.

In 1986 Pauline met the love of her life, Horst Schmoock. They began their married life together in Foxborough in 1987 and eventually settled in Weymouth, their home for the past 20 years. Horst and Pauline were devoted to each other and enjoyed working together, managing storage units and servicing vending machines. After leaving the storage business, Pauline worked in food service at Anthem Blue Cross, where she enjoyed interacting with customers. As Pauline prepared for retirement she and Horst began setting up a flea market business. While an injury on her last day of work put a wrench in those plans, she and Horst continued to enjoy collecting treasures.

Pauline had a big heart and was a natural caregiver. Her compassion was evident throughout her life. She opened her home and her heart to many children through fostering and was a caregiver for her aunts and mother. Pauline found great joy in caring for others and making those around her feel welcomed, loved, and supported. She also loved animals and had many pets.

Pauline loved adventure and travel. One of her first big trips was to Europe in 1963. Through the years, she traveled extensively with family and friends. Pauline and Horst went on many cruises, exploring other countries and cultures while meeting new people. They enjoyed many of these trips with her sister Nancy and brother-in-law, Skip.

Pauline was the devoted wife of Horst. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, with whom she remained very close throughout her life. She was predeceased by her parents, brother John P. Conley Jr. and his wife Gerry, and sister Nancy V. Simmons and her husband Skip.

The family is grateful for the care Pauline received from her care team at South Shore Hospital, Croi Health, and Dr. Cynthia Cullinane.
