Paul S. Burke

Paul S. Burke, of Hingham, passed away, peacefully, at the age of 83 with family at his side and holding his hand on Sunday, April 19, 2026.

Born on December 18, 1942, Paul was raised and educated in Boston and was a graduate of Boston Technical High School, Class of 1960. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served his country for four years.

Following his military service, Paul began a long and dedicated career with the MBTA. Over 25 years of service, he worked his way up from the ground level to the position of car man, earning the respect of colleagues through his strong work ethic and commitment.

Paul was a talented athlete in his younger years, particularly excelling in baseball, and remained a lifelong and devoted fan of Boston sports. In his retirement, he found great joy in traveling extensively, with Hawaii and the Grand Cayman among his favorite destinations.

Paul was predeceased by his wife Nancy Burke (Wagoner) and his sister Arlene Burke. Paul is survived by his children, Paul S Burke and partner Frank Strona of California, Donna M Taylor and her husband Joe of Quincy, John J Burke and his wife Kristen of Saugus, and Brian D Burke and his wife Sarah of West Roxbury; his grandchildren and great-grandchild; and his siblings, Mary Simeone and her husband Sal, and Gerald “Jerry” Burke and his wife Betty.  Paul is also survived by his beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Saturday, May 9th from 8:30 to 10:30 AM at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant Street (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 10:30 AM.
