Olive M. Jackson

Olive M. (McConnell) Jackson, age 88, passed away peacefully at home in Hanson on July 14, 2023. Olive was born, raised, and educated in Northern Ireland. She met her beloved husband, Norman, when they were just 14 years old. Olive and Norman married in 1956 and in 1966 they decided to immigrate to America with their three children. They settled in North Weymouth where they raised their loving family.

Olive was a longtime member of the South Weymouth Church of the Nazarene in Weymouth. She was a brilliant cook and was often seen scrolling the internet for new recipes, a favorite pastime of hers. She also loved crocheting and knitting, decorating, and gardening. Olive and Norman took many trips together. She was known as a happy, fun-loving woman devoted to her husband and family.

Olive is predeceased by her beloved husband, Norman. She is survived by her children, Carol Schillberg and her husband Larry, of Stoughton; Norma McCann and her husband, Hugh, of Hanson; and David Jackson and his wife, Dawn, of Amelia, Ohio. She was also loved by her grandchildren, Kimberly Swail, Alex Jackson, Katie Lesogor, Kristin Jackson-Misje, Rebecca Bullard, Brenna Jackson-Guayaquil, and her great-grandchildren, Jackson, Madelyn, Donovan, Nora, and Klara. Olive is also survived by her siblings, Eveline Forsythe of Australia, William McConnell, Nancy Thompson, Robert McConnell, Ronald McConnell of Northern Ireland, and Kenneth McConnell of Liverpool, England. She is predeceased by her siblings Walter McConnell and Esther Walker.

A visitation for Olive will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, in the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 134 Pleasant Street (Columbian Sq.), South Weymouth, from 10:30-11 a.m., which will be immediately followed by a service.
