Nancy Baker

Nancy Baker (Wicklund), aged 82, of Rockland, passed away peacefully at her home on February 10, 2023. Nancy was born in Somerville and raised in South Weymouth where she graduated from Weymouth High School in 1958. She married her loving husband Kenneth just two days after graduation and the two of them moved to Amarillo, Texas where Kenneth was stationed in the Air Force. After two and a half years in Texas, they moved to Rockland, MA in 1960 where they settled and raised their family together.

Nancy was the secretary for her husband’s company, Baker Testing Services for much of her life. She was also a member of the Hatherly Country Club in Scituate for many years. Nancy enjoyed playing golf with Kenneth and her lady friends at the Hatherly Country Club, crafting ceramics, and being outside in the yard where she could admire and smell all the beautiful flowers and watch the birds and animals. Most of all, Nancy loved spending time with her family, whether it was a beach day at Nantasket Beach or a holiday gathering at her children’s homes, Nancy adored being with her family.

Nancy is survived by beloved husband Kenneth Baker, her children, Timothy Baker of Rockland, MA, Christy Cosgrove and her husband Robert of Boxford, MA, and Kimberly Ionta and her husband Christopher of Marshfield MA, sister Linda Page and her husband Roland, sister Elle Ramponi, and predeceased by brother Albert (Bruce) Wicklund and wife Shelley.  She was also loved by her grandchildren, Jessica, Lisa, Jeffrey, Kimberly, and Daniel and her eight great grandchildren. Nancy will also be missed by her golden retriever, Gunny.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours for Nancy on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 4-7 pm at the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. A private graveside service will be held for Nancy in the spring.
