Matthew Lentz, age 44, of Braintree, died suddenly of a heart attack on February 16, 2026. Matthew was a devoted father, loving son, brother, and loyal friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved sons, Aiden and Matthew his loving mother, Donna Mancini and her husband Sam .His brothers, Jeremy and Shaun and partner Laura LaRosa and his sister, Kristina. He was predeceased by his father, Jerry Lentz.
Matthew worked at Save A Tree, where he was known for his strong work ethic, infectious smile and dedication. Outside of work, Matthew had a deep passion for cooking and found his greatest joy in bringing family together, especially during the holidays. He will be remembered as an amazing friend, a source of comfort to many, and someone known for giving the very best hugs.
Matthew loved spending his free time in the peaceful beauty of the White Mountains, where he was happiest surrounded by nature.
Matthew’s love for his family and friends, his generous spirit and warm heart will be deeply missed, and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visitation for Matthew on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 4-7pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant Street Weymouth, MA 02190. Relatives and friends will gather in the Funeral Home Saturday morning at 9:30am for a Celebration of Life prayer prior to the Funeral Mass for Matthew at Resurrection Church located at 1057 Main Street, Hingham, MA 02043. Cremation will follow at a later date.
In loving memory of Matthew, and to honor his heart and spirit, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Matthew's memory to The American Heart Association.
