Maryanne E. Jamieson, a resident of Hingham and a woman devoted to her faith, family, and community, passed away peacefully on November 22nd, 2025, at the age of 94. Born in Weymouth on August 15th, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Dominic Paone and Angela M. (Fucci).
Maryanne grew up in Weymouth and graduated from Weymouth High School with the Class of 1949. During her school years, she was a proud member of the Weymouth High School Marching Band as a Drum Majorette, where she met James E. Jamieson Sr. After graduating, she worked with the town clerk in Weymouth Town Hall before she and James were married and began their family, first settling in Weymouth and later in Hingham.
A faithful churchgoer, Maryanne lived her life with a deep sense of devotion and kindness. She loved to travel and cherished many memorable trips, with her favorite being a journey to Portugal. Maryanne was also a natural caretaker—she lovingly looked after her mother and always found joy in caring for her own family. She was happiest when hosting, entertaining, and filling her home with warmth.
Thanksgiving and Christmas were truly her seasons. Maryanne made the holidays magical with her signature handmade pinecone wreaths and her enthusiasm for every detail of the celebration. She was also a familiar face at Dunkin’s, where she was a loyal and cheerful patron for many years.
Maryanne is survived by her loving children James E. Jamieson Jr., Raymond G. Jamieson, and Barry D. Jamieson,(Patty A Jamieson) She was the cherished grandmother of Amelia A. Jamieson, Hannah R. Jamieson, Derek R. Raffa-Jamieson, Grace M. Jamieson, and Kira A. Jamieson. She was predeceased by her sister Madeline Cogliano.
Family and friends are respectfully invited on December 9th to C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home at 134 Pleasant St in Weymouth to briefly meet for a Celebration of Life Service at 9AM. There will be a funeral Mass at St. Paul's Parish in Hingham, located at 147 North St. Hingham at 10AM for Maryanne followed by a burial at Hingham Center Cemetery.
