Mary Lou Kelley, 86, passed away peacefully on October 20th, 2025, at home surrounded by her family after a long illness.
Mary Lou was born in South Boston on July 24th, 1939, and grew up as Mary Lou Glynn in Southie. She married the love of her life, George Kelley of Charlestown, on May 15th, 1960.
Mary Lou worked for the Town of Weymouth as a special needs aide at East Junior High School, where she found joy in helping children every day. She also worked in Weymouth as a real estate agent and insurance broker.
She is survived by her loving sister, Carol Cafiera of South Carolina, her brothers Rick and Ed Glynn, and her three sons: Kevin and his wife Cathy, George Kelley of Brockton; Robert and his wife Ellen Bon and their daughter Angelina of Weymouth; and Dave and his wife Cindy and their children Paige, Liam, and Lilly Kelley of Abington.
Mary Lou was predeceased by her husband, George F. Kelley, and her son, George D. Kelley.
Friends and family are respectfully invited to visiting hours at the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.), South Weymouth, on Saturday, October 25th, from 8 to 9 AM, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. Albert the Great Church in Weymouth.
