Marianne Crooks of Weymouth passed away surrounded by her family on October 6, 2022 at the age of 72. Marianne was born, raised, and educated in Weymouth graduating from Weymouth High School with the class of 1969. Upon graduating she married the love of her life and High School sweetheart Billy. She went straight to work at New England Tel. and then worked for the Weymouth Public Schools for 10 years. Marianne then became the Food Service Director for the Abington Public Schools where she worked until her retirement in 2011.
Marianne was an amazing woman with a huge heart, infectious laugh and with her larger than life personality. She spent much of her time volunteering at places like South Shore Hospital and Sacred Heart Church as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Prayer Warriers. When she wasn‘t devoting time to others, she cherished the time she could spend with her family. She loved vacationing in the Caribbean, Maine and the Cape. Marianne loved playing Cornhole with Bill, and taking long walks on the beach. In her free time she also enjoyed yoga and water aerobics at Webb’s with her “Water Babies”. Above all else Marianne will be missed for her ability to brighten any room she walked into.
Marianne was the beloved wife of 52 years to Bill Crooks of Weymouth. She was the devoted mother of Michael Crooks of Weymouth, Patricia Morley and her husband Daniel of Abington and mother in law of Judy Crooks of Rockland. Marianne was the beloved Grandmother of Cassandra Fisher, Trevor, Bryanna and William Crooks, Travis and Madison Morely. Marianne was the sister of Timothy Brown and his wife Kate, sister-in-law to Cindi Brown and was predeceased by her brothers Stephen and Daniel Brown. she also leaves behind nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Marianne in the CC Shepherd Funeral Home (134 Pleasant St. Weymouth) on Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 4 to 8 PM in the evening. A celebration of life will take place in the funeral home on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 10:15AM before a funeral mass at the Our Lady Queen of Peace (Sacred Heart) in Weymouth at 11AM. A burial will follow at the Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Marianne‘s memory to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation at https://www.bcrf.org
