Weymouth

Lois (Kay) Catherine Walsh (Mullin) , age 87, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, on November 22, 2023. Kay was born in Newton, raised and educated in Allston and Weymouth. While working at Standard Thompson, Kay met the love of her life, James Walsh. The two married in 1960 and raised their loving family in Weymouth. Kay was a stay at home mom for many years. She then worked for Stop and Shop's corporate office. She worked there for twenty plus years as an executive assistant.

Kay was a kind and compassionate woman. She always put others before herself, and if you were blessed to be in her life, she made sure you knew you were loved and cared for. True to her selfless nature, she would frequently volunteer at the Weymouth Senior Center, where she was an active participant in many of the entertainment activities, exercising and line dancing being some of her favorites from the program. The most important thing in Kay’s life was her family. She proudly held the title Wife to James, Mother, Nana, and Grammy to six children, fifteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She enjoyed family vacations and spending time with her children, in-laws, and grandchildren as much as possible.

Kay is predeceased by her husband, James Edward Walsh. She is survived by her loving children, Kathleen O'Day and her husband Terrence, of North Weymouth, Joseph Walsh, of North Weymouth and daughter in law Cheryl Walsh, of Venice, Fl., Marie Johnson and her husband Kenneth, of Hanson, James Walsh and his wife Jean, of South Weymouth, Mary Starkman and her husband Edward, of Hanson and Kristine Hudson and her husband Greg, of Abington. Kay was also loved by her grandchildren, Keri, Lauren, Colleen, Marty, Joey, Kevin, Erin, Ryan, Maggie, Matthew, Katherine, Patrick, James, Terrence Jr., and Grace, and her great-grandchildren, Cameron, Owen, and Madison. Kay was predeceased by her parents, James and Clara Mullin (Hughes), and her thirteen siblings.
