Joan F. Keenan

Joan F. Keenan (Low), age 80, of South Weymouth, passed away at Brigham and Women's Hospital in the arms of her loving husband, James Keenan. Joan and Jim started dating in the summer of 1971, and married on September 29, 1973 in Brighton. Joan and Jim recently celebrated fifty loving years of a love filled marriage. They first lived in Allston before moving to South Weymouth, forty seven years ago. 

Joan was born in Boston and lived her early childhood in Boston before moving to Brookline. Joan graduated from Brookline High School in 1961. Joan then entered the business field as a bookkeeper. She first worked with the Red Cross of Boston, then True Value Hardware of Cleveland Circle. Joan finished her business career with PreCast Specialties of Abington.

Joan loved spending time with her beloved husband, Jim. Joan and Jim enjoyed taking trips while young. The most memorable was Hawaii in 1989.Joan was proud of her career and loved to work. She enjoyed shopping, bingo, flowers and watching the birds. She was a caring and compassionate woman that loved helping others, 

Joan is survived by her loving husband, James Keenan, of South Weymouth. She is also survived by her sister, Marjorie DeVoe, of Norwell. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her sisters, Patricia Trott and Marilyn Packard. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Joan on Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 1pm- 5pm, in the CC Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) South Weymouth. Relatives and friends will gather the following morning in the funeral home for a funeral service for Joan, beginning at 10am. Burial will be at Mt. Hope cemetery in Weymouth.
