Janice R. "Nanajan" Nelson

Weymouth - Janice R. "Nanajan" Nelson (Ezold), passed away at the age of 89 in her home under hospice care on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

Janice was born on February 11, 1937 in New Haven, Connecticut and was the daughter of the late John R. Ezold and Bessie D. Ezold (Price). She served as vice president of her graduating high school class at the Eastern Nazarene College in 1955. She was married to Keith L. Nelson February, 16, 1957 until June 1982. Her last employment was with the Polaroid Corporation of Norwood. 

She enjoyed many activities at the Whipple Senior Center. Her interests included music, gardening, knitting, reading, walking and visiting friends and family. The United Church of Christ in Norwell was the church she regularly attended. 

Janice is survived by her three children: Joanne R. Moloney of Maine, Michael K. Nelson of Florida and Donna L. Nelson of Weymouth, and 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Lura Elwood (Ezold) and former husband Keith Nelson.

There will be a memorial service on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at 3:30PM at the United Church of Christ, 460 Main St. Norwell, MA 02061. Immediately following we will gather in the church's Memorial Garden for our final farewell. 

In leiu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the UCC Church Mission for El Salvador called Asaprosar. Janice knitted many dolls for the children there.
