Jane A. Meehan

Weymouth, MA - Jane A. (Gregoritch) Meehan, 83, passed away surrounded by her loving family on June 11, 2026. She was born March 10, 1943, in Philadelphia, PA, to William and Lilyn Gregoritch.

A caring nurturer, Jane loved watching and helping things grow: whether her beautiful flowers, her children and grandchildren, or the hundreds of young students she taught throughout her career. Jane earned her degree in Elementary Education from UMass Amherst, laying the foundation for her many years as Lead Teacher for South Shore Daycare and later as a literacy tutor in Marshfield Public Schools.

Jane is survived by her beloved husband, Ed; three children, Kate Trudeau and husband Dale Trudeau of Weymouth, Keith Meehan of Columbia Falls, Montana, and Sara Meehan and husband Stefan Gibson of Washington, D.C. Jane is also survived by her sister, Margaret “Pickle” Spaulding; her brother, William Gregoritch; grandchildren Brooke, Teddy, and Ian; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jane lived a life of joy, adventure, love, and friendships. She and Ed enjoyed 58 years of a wonderful marriage. Jane was happiest on family trips, seeing new places, on the beach, in her garden, and caring for flowers along her woodland path.

The family will hold a private burial at Mount Hope Cemetery in Weymouth along with a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations could be sent to the Weymouth Garden Club and The Trustees of Reservations.
