Helena Schimith Silva

Helena Schimith Silva, 7 years old, passed from this temporal life into heaven during the early morning hours of Monday, August 25, 2025. She lived in Norwood with her beloved parents (Edileusa, Luciano), sisters (Hrahanny, Heloisa) and brother in law (Sergio). 

Her family is originally from Brazil and when asked to describe their precious child said these three words: “anjo”, “luz”, “alegria”, (“angel”, “light”, “joy”). Everyone who had the privilege to know Helena could not deny the beautiful light of God’s love in her life. We take heart knowing that Jesus has already welcomed her into heaven. Yet, why at this time will remain a mystery until we see God face to face. She had just celebrated her 7th birthday on Saturday, August 23. Helena had a disorder of the lymphatic system that caused many health issues; however, she never let that dampen her love for life. The actual causes of her sudden sickness and extreme fever are yet to be determined.

John 8: 12… Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
