Grace "Edie" Munroe

September 23, 1944 — April 12, 2024

Pembroke

Grace Edith (Edie) Munroe formerly of Weymouth and Pembroke passed away April 12th after a lengthy illness. The daughter of Joseph and Grace Hale, she was born and raised in Weymouth. Edie attended Weymouth Public Schools and was active in Union Congregational church of Weymouth and Braintree.
Edie was a member of The International Order of Rainbow for Girls and as an adult joined Mayflower Chapter Order of Eastern Star. While an active member of Eastern Star Edie held many offices including Worthy Matron of her chapter and Deputy Grand Matron for the Massachusetts Grand Chapter. She loved her many years of membership and the friendships she made were a treasure to her.
An avid cook and entertainer, Edie turned that into a catering business where she catered many Masonic dinners and celebrations. Every holiday and birthday was a reason to celebrate and decorate! Her family has treasured memories of her cooking and dancing around the kitchen preparing all their favorite foods.
Edie is survived by her three children; Mark (Dawn) Ridder of Missouri, Traci (John) Murphy of Pembroke, and Todd (Tammy) Ridder of Weymouth. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren Spencer, Sarah, Joseph, Emma, Michael, Matthew, Daniel & Kaitlyn, two great grandchildren Nova and Roy, and her brother Kenneth Hale of Virginia and Florida. She is predeceased by her grandson John MacKinnon. She also leaves her companion of many years Ken Congdon.
Edie's family would like to thank Compass on the Bay Memory Care Assisted Living in South Boston and Royal Health Braintree for the care and love that they showed Edie during her illness. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grand Chapter Of Mass OES with a note ‘In Memory of Edie Munroe for Charitable Foundation’ PO Box 600583 Newtonville, MA 02460.
