George E. Walsh, Jr., “Ed,” of Norwell passed away March 8, 2026, one day before his 83rd birthday. Born March 9, 1943, he was raised and educated in Weymouth and graduated from Weymouth Vocational Technical High School in 1960.
In 1967 he married his wife, Susanne. Then in 1970 they settled in Norwell, where they raised their family and cultivated countless memories.
Ed was passionate about his work as a structural engineer and loved sharing his ideas and understanding with anyone willing to listen. He greatly enjoyed summers on Lake Winnipesaukee with family and friends for 60 years.
Ed is survived by Susanne, his wife of over 58 years, his children, Matthew Walsh and his wife Janice of South Weymouth, and Kerry Kelleher and her husband Richard of Middleborough; his grandchildren, Madison, Megan, Antares, and John; and his siblings, Richard Walsh and his wife Patricia, Linda Marvin and her husband Mike, and Katherine Toye and her husband Lance.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Ed on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 4–7 PM in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. Friends are invited to a funeral service the following day (Saturday), at 10 AM in Holy Nativity Church, 9 Nevin Rd., South Weymouth. A reception will follow at Weathervane, 117 Clubhouse Dr., South Weymouth. Cremation will follow.
