Frances M French

Frances M. French (Naughton), aged 87, passed away on June 22, 2023. Frances was born in South Boston, raised and educated in Cambridge where she graduated from Cambridge Latin in 1954. Frances married the love of her life Thomas, on June 8, 1957 and the two settled in Cambridge. After a few years of city life, they decided to move to Weymouth in 1966 where they raised their family.

Frances enjoyed reading, sewing and walking on the beach. She was fascinated with weather, hurricanes being a particular favorite of hers. She was a Campfire Girl leader and a member of the Fine Arts Chorale.

Frances is survived by her beloved husband Thomas French. She is also survived by loving children Elizabeth French and her Partner Molly Frolick, of Pittsburgh, and Katherine French and her wife Pat Ausman, of Framingham. Frances was predeceased by her son, Martin French. Frances was also loved  by her grandchildren, Nick French and his wife Anne Jorgensen of Wrentham, and Andrea French of Cambridge. She was the sister of Thomas Naughton and his wife, Patricia of Foxboro, and she was the godmother to Lily Donovan of Braintree.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Frances on Sunday, July 16, 2023, from 2-5pm, at the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Frances' name to the Perkins School for the Blind using the link provided on this page.
