Brockton

Florence J. Frazier, age 90 passed away peacefully on October 4, 2023.

Flo was born in Boston on September 4, 1933 to Roderick and Harriet MacNeil.  The fourth of eight children, she attended Catholic Memorial High School before joining the Army Reserves. She enjoyed her time in the military and made some lifelong friends.

Flo married the late Tom Frazier Jr. of Newton Lower Falls in 1957.  First living in Dorchester until 1963 when they purchased a house in North Weymouth to raise their children.  They enjoyed their neighborhood and made many friends on the South Shore.  Flo had a passion for cooking and enjoyed baking treats for friends and family.  She could often be found in the kitchen wearing an apron with the mixer whirring.  Freshly baked cakes and desserts were a regular staple at home.

Flo was an avid bowler who spent every Wednesday at the South Shore Country Club.  After bowling the gang would take turns at each other’s house for a get together. It was a weekly ritual that was treated with high regard and never deterred.  These and all of her many friendships were a very big and important part of her life.

Flo lived in North Weymouth until becoming a widow in 1974.  Soon afterward she relocated to Sandown, New Hampshire in the first of many moves in her interesting life.  She married the late Steve Spongberg in 1981. A loving man with children of his own.  She is survived by his children Shirley, Nancy, Donna and Bob as well as many step-grandchildren. Her step-children Steve, Donald and Valerie are pre-deceased.

After Steve’s sudden passing she moved back to the South Shore, living in Carver for many years until beginning an eight-year relationship with Alfred (Nappy) Napolitano.  They did a lot of traveling together and enjoyed their quiet time in Braintree, MA until his passing.

Once more Flo relocated to Chester NH where she lived happily for many years in her in-law apartment with son Paul’s family.

Flo is survived by her children Kathleen Leary and husband Patrick, Tom and his wife Tricia, Paul and wife Staci, John, and the late Jeanne-Marie.  She was Nana to Michael, Sean-Matthew, Megan, Stephen, David, Tommy, and Vivian.  Flo was affectionately known as “Old Nana” to great-grandchildren Georgia, James, Grey, Maisie and Finn.  Flo was pre-deceased by siblings, Rod, Marcella, Sandy and Walter.  She is survived by siblings Frank, Patricia and Fred.
