Elizabeth Tamborella

Betty Tamborella (Taylor), age 91, of Weymouth passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 26, 2023. Betty was born and raised in Brookline and graduated from Brookline High School. She continued her education and graduated from Northeastern University. She also received her Doctorate at Bridgewater State University.  

Betty married her husband, Michael A. Tamborella in 1956. They started a family in Fall River, prior to settling in Weymouth where they lived ever since. 

Her passions included family and education. Her love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was immense. She worked in various levels of education at Weymouth Schools as a student psychologist. Betty loved the work, as well as connecting with and helping her students.  

Betty was predeceased by her husband Michael Tamborella, her sons Michael and Thomas Tamborella, and her grandson David Tamborella Jr. She is survived by her children David Tamborella and his wife Nancy of Weymouth, Peter Tamborella and his wife Kelly of Pembroke, Lisa Tamborella and her partner Brian Lewis of Weymouth, and her daughter-in-law, Debby Tamborella of Hull. Betty will be missed by her 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sibling Walter Taylor and his wife Delores. 

Relatives and friends are invited to visitation for Betty on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 4-8 p.m. in the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA 02190. 

Relatives and friends are also invited to the funeral home Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 9 a.m. for a Celebration of Life. Following, the funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. in the St. Francis Xavier Church located at 234 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth MA. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, South Weymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to www.MagicalMoon.org to support Magical Moon Farm and Foundation in Marshfield.
