Elizabeth “Betty” Blake of Rockland, passed away peacefully at the age of 79, on April 20th of 2024, with her loving children by her side. She was born in Boston and was raised in West Roxbury. She graduated from Cardinal Cushing High School in 1962. Shortly after, she met the love of her life, John Blake and they were married in 1965. Betty and John started a family in Dorchester then raised their children in Quincy. She worked in the insurance industry for over 15 years.
Betty loved vacationing in the Lakes Region of NH. She loved to crochet and made many blankets for her children and grandchildren. She also loved to read. Betty will be remembered for her caring nature and for how much she enjoyed an ice cold refreshment from her beloved "Betty Box". Many considered her to be an angel on Earth. She will be sorely missed by all who loved and knew her.
Betty is predeceased by her husband John Blake Jr. She is survived by her adoring children Barbara Applegate and her husband Dan of Rockland, Richard Blake and his wife Patricia of Whitman, and Brenda Pienkos of Marshfield. She is also survived by her grandchildren John and his girlfriend Katie, Ricky, DJ and his girlfriend Taylor, Lauren and her husband Ryan, Kelly, Ryan, Nicole, as well as her great granddaughter Stella Elizabeth. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Betty on Friday, April 26, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 pm, in the CC Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) South Weymouth. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 11:00 am. Betty's urn will be joining her beloved husband John and interred at a private graveside ceremony at a later date.
