Dorothy Emily Ostman

Dorothy E. Ostman (Smith), age 93, of Braintree, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2023. Dorothy was born in Quincy, raised and educated in Braintree, where she graduated from Braintree High School in 1948. She married her beloved husband Edwin "Osty" Ostman in 1951 and the two raised their family in Braintree before his passing.

Dorothy loved gardening, taking photos, and spending time with her family. She loved helping animals and and her house was her pride and joy. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her dear friend Edward "Ed" Riley. She had many wonderful memories with her group of friends, known as "The Milkmaids", for over seventy-five years.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Dorothy on Monday, December 11, from 4 -7pm, in the CC Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 134 Pleasant St (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth. Burial service will be private in accordance with Dorothy's wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the New England Wildlife Center https://www.newildlife.org/
