Dorothy Buskey

Dorothy Irma (Brems) Buskey, aged 80, of South Weymouth, passed away peacefully at home on November 8, 2023. Dorothy was born, raised and educated in Chelsea, graduating from Saint Rose School in 1960. After high school, she attended the Massachusetts Soldiers' Home School of Nursing in Chelsea, graduating in 1962. She married the love of her life Leland in 1964, and the two raised their combined family in South Weymouth.

Dorothy worked for many years as a nurse for the Soldiers' Home in Chelsea, Logan Manor Nursing Home in Weymouth, and Weymouth Health Care Center.  She also worked for many years with her husband in running their bowling/recreation business, Timber Lanes and Squires Loft, in Abington.  Dorothy was devoted to her family and friends, often hosting for the holidays.  Dorothy enjoyed gambling, especially poker and slot machines. Dorothy was an avid dog lover all of her life, and leaves behind her beloved Chiweenie, Crimson.

Dorothy is predeceased by her husband, Leland H. Buskey, Jr., her son, Daniel S. Buskey, and her stepdaughter, Patricia E. Buskey. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn A. Buskey, of North Quincy, her stepdaughter, Joanne Buskey, of Hyannis, and her stepson, Leland H. Buskey, III, of Vermont. She is also survived by her brother, Frederick M. Brems and his wife Deborah, and her sister-in-law, Dorothy Brems. She is predeceased by her brothers, James and Richard Brems.  Dorothy's three Godchildren, Diane Korzeniowski, Emily Buskey and Christine Ruzzo, also survive her.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Dorothy on Monday, November 13, 2023 at the CC Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St (Columbian Square) Weymouth from 9:30AM to 10:30AM. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:00AM at the Saint Francis Xavier Church in Weymouth. Burial will be at Saint Francis Xavier Cemetery, also in Weymouth.
