Doris G. Chisholm

Doris G. Chisholm (Green), age 92, a lifelong Weymouth resident, passed away peacefully at home with her son by her side on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. Doris was raised and educated in Weymouth where she graduated from Weymouth High in 1950. Soon after, she married her beloved husband Andrew Chisholm prior to settling in Weymouth. Doris and Andrew settled in Weymouth where they have cultivated so many fond memories over the decades while raising their son, Roger.

Doris graduated from Bridgewater State College in 1954 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She taught for years at the Hunt School and later at the Union Street School in Weymouth taking a break for about ten years in the middle to raise her son. Doris retired in 1999 and was able to enjoy nine years of retirement with her husband Andrew before he passed in 2008. They travelled often with an Elder Hostel group during these years and also Upstate New York specifically the Saratoga Racetrack with her sister Florene and her husband Joe Freitas.

Doris was predeceased by her husband Andrew Chisholm. She is survived by her loving son Roger Chisholm of Weymouth, her sister Edna Hollander and her husband Albert "Buzz" of Hingham, and her cousin Freda Burke and her husband Paul of Pembroke

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Doris from 5-7pm on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. A funeral service will take place in the funeral home on Thursday morning at 10am, guests should arrive at 9:45am. Burial will immediately follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Weymouth.
