David Smith

David Smith passed away peacefully on September 30, 2024. He was born in South Weymouth, Massachusetts, on August 11, 1950, to the late Mary (Benson) and Mark Smith.

David attended Weymouth High School and graduated with the Class of 1968. Following his graduation, he began a lifelong career in the construction industry, where he was known for his dedication, hard work, and craftsmanship.

On October 12, 1983, David was united in marriage to the love of his life, Janette Smith. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

In his free time, David enjoyed playing the guitar, golfing, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered as a joyful soul with a wonderful sense of humor who could always bring a smile to those around him.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Sharon Smith, and his beloved grandchildren, Gabriel Smith, Michelle Smith, and Joseph Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Janette, and his siblings, Anthony Smith and Kelly Smith.

David will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visitation for David on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 2-4pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. A celebration of life will take place immediately following the visiting hours at 4pm.
