Clare M. Corbett

Clare Corbett of Braintree entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 23rd, 2025. She was born to John J. & Anna Mae Corbett (Hines) on April 8th, 1941. Clare is survived by her sister Gerarda (Gerry) Roy and her husband Anthony of Bethlehem, NH, her brother-in-law John Morris of Green Valley, AZ, her niece Guinevere Hutchko of Whitman, her nephew Anthony Roy, Jr and his wife Nicolette, of Braintree and her niece Josette Roy of Pembroke. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews, and one great grand nephew. Clare was predeceased by her parents John Corbett in 1972, Anna Corbett in 1996, and her sister Margaret in 2021.

Clare was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Weymouth and Stonehill College where she earned a BS in Biology. Clare worked for more than 20 years in the Bio-Chemistry field starting her career at Massachusetts General Hospital for several years before moving to Washington DC to continue her career. After returning from Washington she continued in Bio-Chemistry working for several different laboratories including Creative Biomolecules where she was in charge of setting up laboratories and supervising personnel. Clare had published findings and collaborated in several publications including Journal of Biological Chemistry, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and Analytical Biochemistry. In later years she worked for Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Quincy and Visiting Nurses, Braintree.

For the past 30 years Clare was actively involved as an avid quilter. She was a member of several quilting groups including Proper Bostonians, Herring Run, Crosstown Quilters and a small Tuesday morning group of her closest friends. She was known for her generosity when it came to donating her time and talent for charitable organizations.

Friends and family are invited to form a procession at the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home at 9AM which will leave at 930AM to the funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church, Pleasant Street South Weymouth on Wednesday, November 5th at 10AM. Burial will follow at St Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Spaulding Rehabilitation, 1575 Cambridge Street Cambridge MA 02138 or St Jude's Children's Hospital.
