Carol Ann Sullivan (Sullivan), age 88, of Braintree, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 27, 2026.
Carol was born in Boston and raised and educated in South Boston, proudly graduating from South Boston High School in 1956. A woman of deep Irish heritage, Carol carried with her the warmth, humor, and strong devotion to faith and family that defined her life. She met her beloved husband, Joe, in high school, where they sat next to each other simply because of their shared last name. Their friendship soon blossomed into a lifelong love, and they were married shortly thereafter.
Carol and Joe began their family in South Boston before eventually settling in Holbrook, where they raised their two sons. In 1979, they moved to Braintree, where Carol made her home for the remainder of her life.
A woman of steadfast faith, Carol was deeply involved in parish life, always giving her time and heart to her church community. Her faith was the foundation of everything she did, guiding her dedication to her family and to those around her.
Later in life, Carol began working as a clerk at South Weymouth Savings Bank. Through her determination and strong work ethic, she rose over the course of fifteen years to become Vice President. After achieving that milestone, Carol retired, enjoying many peaceful years alongside her husband Joe, treasuring time with their cherished granddaughter, Molly, and embracing the quiet joys of family life.
Carol is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph Sullivan of Braintree, her sons, Mike Sullivan of Braintree and Brian Sullivan of Hingham, and her adored granddaughter, Molly. She also leaves behind her sister, Claire Martin, as well as many dear friends who will miss her greatly.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the Funeral Mass in honor of Carol’s life at St. Clare’s Parish, 1244 Liberty St., Braintree, on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Burial will immediately follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, 700 West Street, Braintree.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the St. Clare’s Renovation Fund at the same address as the church above.
