Bruce Gordon Gilbert, of Holbrook, passed away on October 21, 2026, at the age of 76. He was born in Weymouth on October 5, 1950, to the late Richard Gilbert and Ruth (Buckley) Gilbert.
Bruce proudly served in the United States Air Force. In June of 1972, while in Daventry, England, he married the love of his life, the late Emily (Linnell) Gilbert. Together, they built a life centered around their family and the memories they created along the way.
Bruce worked for many years as an operator at Armstrong Industries and a tow truck driver at Weymouth Service Center before retiring. Outside of work, he had a deep passion for race cars and racing. Some of his happiest and most treasured memories were made at the racetrack, especially watching his son, Rickey, race and win at Star Speedway in New Hampshire. Above all, Bruce cherished his family, and the births of his children, Rickey and his late daughter, Ricka, remained among his most treasured memories. Bruce is survived by his son Rickey Gilbert, and grandson Matthew Qualter.
Bruce was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Ruth Gilbert; his wife, Emily; and his daughter, Ricka. He will be remembered for his love of racing, his pride in his children, and the many memories he shared with those closest to him.
