Bonita Canfield

Bonita (Gorry) Canfield of Weymouth passed away on June 12, 2025 ,at home with her sweetie where she was most comfortable she lived a long and happy life of 83 years. Bonnie was a Kindergarten teacher of more than 35 years at the Ralph Talbot School in Weymouth. She loved every minute of her career, and her students loved being there with her.

Bonnie enjoyed the simple things in life. She took walks in the park, played musical instruments and sang with her friends. Bonnie was a woman that loved her family. She traveled to see them and jumped at the opportunity to do so. She was blessed and loved by all who knew her and will be terribly missed. Rest easy my sunshine.

Bonnie was born to Ellen and Frank Gorry in Hartford Connecticut. She was the loving wife and best friend for 34 years to John Canfield of Weymouth. She was the loving mother of Sheila Purdy, Jennifer Brackett and the late Doug Brackett. She was the devoted grandmother of Ingrid, Erik, Kaitlyn, Jessica, Emily, Clayton and Great grandmother of Aiden and Sofia. She was predeceased by her sister Laurie Meuse and leaves behind her siblings Frank Gorry, Kathie Osborne, Nancy Gurney, Susan Kervin, and her Angel in “disguise” Shannon Painten. Bonnie also leaves behind a great circle of neighbors and friends.
