Born on December 7, 1937, in Long Beach, California, Alice lived a life defined by devotion to her family. Throughout her life, Alice found happiness in her many interests and hobbies, including sewing, quilting, cooking, traveling, and gardening at her beloved home on Front Street in Weymouth.
Alice loved her many Golden and Labrador Retrievers, demonstrated a dedication to her community throughout her life, and brought joy and comfort to those who knew her. Later in life when she was blessed with grandchildren, "Nana" made sure to spoil them often.

Alice was a beloved elementary school teacher for decades in the Weymouth Public Schools system, and was an active member with the Massachusetts Teacher's Association. She was a Deacon at Old South Union Church in Weymouth for many years. She was also the Secretary for the Massachusetts Society of Mayflower Descendants, and was an elected Weymouth Town Meeting Member.
Above all, Alice treasured the time spent with her loved ones. She is survived by her husband of 62 years Ruel Mohnkern; her son, Paul Mohnkern; her grandchildren, Ritter, Emery, and Audrey Mohnkern; her sister, Janet Pelrine; her nieces JoAnne Pizzi, Patty MacDonald, and Jordan Sassin; and her nephews Jack Toomey and Jim Toomey, plus many extended family members.
