Albert "Tom" Godfrey of Weymouth passed away surrounded by his family on January 8, 2023 at the age of 82. Tom was born raised and educated in Quincy graduating from the North Quincy High School with the class of 1957. After graduating Tom courageously and honorably served his country with the United States Marine Corps for nearly 3 years. Once home Tom began his career as a truck driver with the teamsters Local 25, met his loving wife, Maria and started a family.
Tom was a humble and kind man, spending much of his time volunteering for various benefits and causes. He spent time helping with the hurricane Katrina relief and would volunteer yearly collecting, sorting, and delivering toys with the US Marine Toys for Tots. When he wasn't giving us back to his community Tom could be found traveling with his family, listening to Irish tunes, or just admiring his 1937 Desoto car. Tom was a member of the Silver lake Antique Car Club, the committee chair of boy scout troop 32 in Quincy and enjoyed 47 years of sobriety with his AA family. Above all else Tom loved the time he got to spend with his family and always made sure they were taken care of first and foremost.
Tom was the son of the late Albert and Margaret Godfrey. He was the beloved husband of 57 years to Maria Godfrey of Weymouth. Tom was the devoted father of Thomas Godfrey and his wife Doreen of Weymouth, Timothy Godfrey and his wife Susan of Plainville and Kevin Godfrey and his wife Julie of Weymouth. He was the cherished papa of Brendan, Sean and Olivia. Tom was predeceased by his siblings Paul Godfrey and Patricia Godfrey. Tom also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
