Alan James Brunswick of Hyde Park passed away suddenly on December 5, 2022 at the age of 69. Alan was born, raised and educated in Dorchester and graduated from Boston Technical High School in 1971. After graduating, Alan enlisted in the United States Army where he courageously served his country during the Vietnam War. Once back stateside he worked in various capacities and started a career in the advertising field where he worked until he retired from Outfront Media just a few short years ago.
Alan was an avid golfer, playing as often as he could and was a voracious reader, educating himself constantly. He enjoyed spending time with his golf buddies, childhood friends and family. He will truly be missed by anyone who knew him.
Alan was the cherished son of the late John and Beatrice Brunswick. He was the loving brother of John Brunswick and his partner Jan of St. Augustine, FL, Susan Scanzillo and her husband Tony of Harvard, MA, Bette Brunswick and her husband Steve Plourd of Saco, ME and Joan Mazzaferro and her husband Gene of Raynham, MA.. Alan also leaves behind 8 nieces and nephews, 6 great nieces and nephews and two devoted Aunts, Emily and Shirley.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Alan on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 4-7PM in the CC Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. Weymouth (Columbian Sq.). A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation at 7PM in the funeral home. A private burial service will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at Bourne.
