James T. Hughes Jr.

James T. Hughes, age 70, passed away at his home on August 26, 2009. James is survived by his wife Winnifred (Wormald) Hughes, his 2 sons James T. Hughes III of Virginia and Andrew Hughes of Cape Cod, 3 step-children, Christine Oliver of Weymouth, Allan Miller of Weymouth and Eric Moore of Norwell. He also leaves 2 grandchildren and 10 step-grandchildren. Mr. Hughes was born in Boston, grew up in West Roxbury and lived in Weymouth for the last 24 years. Jim served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was employed by the MBTA for 32 years before retiring in 1990. James was a member of the Weymouth Sportsmen’s Club and the Weymouth United Masonic Lodge. Visiting Hours will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Monday August 31 from 10 to 11 A.M. immediately followed by the Funeral Service at 11 A.M. Interment will be in the Fairmount Cemetery in Weymouth. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jim’s memory to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St. 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02110 or the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
