Sheila M. Bouchie (Sweeney), age 70, of Weymouth passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, April 25, 2022. Sheila was raised and educated in Wollaston. She graduated in 1969 from N. Quincy High School where she was a majorette in the marching band. After traveling abroad through Europe, she attended UMASS Boston where she obtained a Bachelor's of Art in Spanish and Latin American Development. She also focused on accounting at Quincy College. She was employed by the Federal Government at the Small Business Administration in Boston as a Loan Officer/Underwriter from 1984-2004 and also at worked at Shore Savings Bank from 2004-2008.
Sheila married her high school sweetheart, the late Henry Bouchie (Hank), on November 15th, 1974. They started a family together in Quincy then moved to Weymouth where they lived for many years.
Sheila was a devoted, hardworking mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a passion for traveling with her family and especially with her devoted husband, Hank throughout the U.S. as well as abroad such as France, and Ireland. She also enjoyed sailing as did her late father, Arthur whom she adored. She loved spending summer days at the beach.
Sheila was predeceased by her beautiful loving daughter, Genevieve, her devoted husband, Henry as well as her loving father Arthur Sweeney. She is survived by her loving mother, Ardelle Sweeney of Venice, California, and loving children, Ian Bouchie of Weymouth, Peter Bouchie and his wife Melody of Quincy, and Elizabeth Bouchie and her husband Chris of Avon, her loving grandchildren Lilly, Samantha, Thomas, and Julie, and her great-grandchild Anthony. Sheila is also survived by her loving siblings Kathleen, Paul, Connie, Peter, Maura Lindberg, Brian, and David Sweeney as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the viewing for Sheila on Sunday, May 1, 2022 from 2-4pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA 02190. A funeral service will take place in the funeral home immediately following the visitation at 4pm. Cremation will follow.
