Norma (Martucelli) Staples, age 89, passed away on February 27, 2022, at the Braintree Royal Rehabilitation Center after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Norma was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on May 21,1932 to Louis and Mae Martucelli; the second of 5 children. She led a full and active life while continuing to be a loving, resilient role model to 5 daughters who she raised in Dorchester, MA as a single parent. She worked at Price Waterhouse for over 20 years where she shared her strength, talents, humor, and dedication. Norma retired to Naples, FL with her long-time partner Virgil Alves and spent many happy years volunteering with the Tall Oaks Condo Association where she was known for her beauty both inside and out. Norma had a quick wit and infectious laugh that she generously shared. She adored music and dancing but more than anything, Norma loved her family. She is survived by her daughters, Dina Gleason, Diane Evans, Jennifer Staples and her wife Annette Crisafulli, and Suzanne Staples; granddaughters Diana and her husband Bryan Young and Hannah Evans; and great grandson Cayden Young. She joins her late daughter Mai Puccio and her late granddaughter Kaeley (Evans) Kunze.
The Staples sisters will host a celebration of her life on March 24,2022 at the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant Street, Weymouth, MA from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. followed by a toast in Norma’s honor at the Cottage Bar located around the corner. Norma will be interred with her parents at the Blue Hills Cemetery on a later date.
