Helen Susan (Wentzel) Rhodes of Bridgewater passed away surrounded by her family on February 20, 2022, at the age of 77. Susan was born in Pittsburgh, PA and was raised and educated in Weymouth, graduating with the Weymouth High School class of ’62. She met her husband Everett and the two wed in 1968. The two made a home and raised their family in Weymouth. In 2002 they relocated to Bridgewater where they have been ever since. Susan worked as a teller and in loan servicing at South Shore Savings Bank for 32 years where she retired in 2020.

Susan had many interests and talents. She was an avid animal lover and enjoyed sewing and working with her hands. Her social personality drove her to join various masonic organizations. She was active with the International Order of Rainbow Girls as a Past Mother Advisor, Past Grand Deputy and Past Grand Executive Board member, a DeMolay Mother’s Club member, a Past Worthy Matron of Wessagusset Chapter Order of Eastern Star, a Past Royal Matron of Pot of Gold Court Order of the Amaranth and was an active member of the First Church of Christ Scientist of Weymouth/Rockland. Above all else Susan was a dedicated mother and grandmother and adored spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Susan was the loving wife of 53 years to Everett Rhodes of Bridgewater. She was the devoted mother of Heather Ivil and her husband Robert of Rockland and Darrell Rhodes and his wife Digna also of Rockland. Susan also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Robert, Hannah, Danika, and Divinity. She was the daughter of the late Earl and Helen (Rebenack) Wentzel. Susan was also the loving sister to the late Kathryn Robinson and her husband Clyde Robinson and the aunt of numerous nephews and nieces.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service at the Quincy Masonic Building, 20 Greenleaf St. Quincy on March 13 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Susan’s memory can be made to the Animal Rescue League of Boston at https://www.arlboston.org/
