William Looney

William Looney, age 91, of S. Weymouth passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, June 24, 2021. Bill was raised and educated in Dorchester. After graduating from Boston Latin he graduated Boston College in 1950.

Bill proudly served in the Air Force from 1950-53 during which time he married his wife, Nancy. Bill and Nancy settled in Weymouth in 1954 and had been residents ever since. Bill worked his entire life in Medical Sales but always saved time for his family and St. Francis Xavier Church. In addition, he could often be spotted at Park Ave Market talking with his many friends there.

Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife Nancy Looney (Monahan) and his siblings Vincent Looney, Mary Looney, and Marian Cahalane. He is survived by his loving children Dennis Looney and his wife Darlene Albanys of Easton, William Looney, Richard Looney, Nancy Fiander (Looney) and her husband Steve all of Weymouth, Peter Looney and his wife Ellen of Wakefield, Robert Looney and his wife Mary of E. Bridgewater, Suzanne Looney of Weymouth and Joseph Looney and his wife Amy of Weymouth. Bill is also survived by his cherished 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren with his 13th on the way, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visitation for Bill on Saturday, July 3, 2021 from 9-11am in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 11am. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Weymouth. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice of the South Shore at 30 Reservoir Park Dr. Rockland, MA 02370 or to a charity of your choice.
