Leo Daley

d. March 11, 2021

Leo D. Daley, age 78, of S. Weymouth passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 11, 2021. Leo was born, raised, and educated in Dorchester. After high school he started a career in printing before serving in the Army for two years during the Vietnam War.

Leo married his beloved wife, Penny, in 1971 and they started a family in Wollaston before settling in Weymouth in 1977. Leo worked as a printer for almost 30 years before he retired. Being a true jack-of-all-trades he started using his talents to help neighbors and friends in any way that he could.

Leo could often be found sitting on his bench in the front yard of his home on Pond St. holding court with those walking by. He also loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and simply being with his family.

Leo is survived by his wife of 50 years Penny Daley of S. Weymouth, his children David Daley and his wife Margie of CA, Tim Daley and his wife Kelli of Weymouth, Kate Daley of Weymouth, and Lauren Dhooge and her husband Matt of Weymouth, his grandchildren Andrew, Christian, Grace, Addie, Matty, and Sully. Leo is also the brother of Barbara Cullinan, Paul Daley, and the late Jack and Bill Daley.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Leo on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 4-7pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA 02190. All Covid-19 guidelines including limited number of guests in the funeral home will be observed. Friends may gather for the Funeral Mass on Wednesday morning at 10am in the St. Francis Xavier Church in S. Weymouth. Burial will immediately follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Weymouth.
