Barbara Hemmings Gray (Hemmings), age 86, of Weymouth passed away February 4, 2021. Barbara was born in Oceanside, NY. She graduated Boston University in 1961 with a degree in French then completed advanced studies at Universite de Rennes in France in 1966. Being a lifelong learner, Barbara also attended The Goethe Institute, Eastern Nazarene College, and then did doctoral studies in Pastoral Psychotherapy in 1989.

Barbara taught French and German at Westwood High School for over 25 years before retiring in 1989. She was very active as a pastoral counselor at the Norma Kent Pastoral Counseling Center in Abington from 1991-2012 followed by Pastoral Counseling Services of the South Shore in Hanover for another four years.

Barbara was a deeply spiritual person and dedicated much of her time as a Deacon, trustee, and member of the parish guild at Old South Union Church. She loved raising her cats, The Red Sox, gardening, and utilizing the internet to meet people all over the world.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband Robert G. Gray, her stepchildren David Gray, Robert Gray, and Cindy Cannon, and her step-grandson Michael. She is survived by her brother Keith Hemmings, two nieces, and many loving friends.
