Rita Whipple

Rita M. Whipple (Labollita), age 76, of Weymouth passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020. Rita was born in Dorchester, daughter of James and Laura LaBollita, and then moved to Weymouth in 1955 when she was in sixth grade. She married her beloved husband, Bob, in 1965 and they stayed in Weymouth where they raised their two sons together.

Rita was the librarian at Ralph Talbot School for a short time prior to working at Nash School for over 25 years. Rita also worked as the bookkeeper at Weymouth Service Center, the business she and her husband owned for over 40 years. Above all else, Rita enjoyed time with her family, most especially her cherished grandchildren.

Rita was predeceased by her husband of 55 years Robert Whipple. She is survived by her children and grandchildren, all of Weymouth. Robert Whipple and his children, Taylor and Curtis and their mother Jen Curtis- Whipple, Jeffrey Whipple and his wife Aimee and their children Cameron, and Caitlyn. Rita is also survived by many cousins.

Family and friends are invited to the funeral mass for Rita on Saturday, December 19, 2020 in the Immaculate Conception Church located at 720 Broad Street Weymouth, MA 02189 at Noon. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association at 393 Maple St. Springfield, MA 01105 or at www.lung.org.
