Brooke C. Stephens, age 42, of Weymouth passed away after a long battle with breast cancer on April 19, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Brooke was born in Red Bank, NJ then raised and educated in Middletown, NJ. While working towards her BA from Boston University and her Masters at Northeastern, Brooke fell in love with Boston, then soon after graduating moved to Weymouth. She worked for over 15 years as a speech and language pathologist at Canton schools where she enjoyed the students and also her fellow staff members who have become such valuable friends.
Brooke was a dedicated daughter who loved Boston Sports, Nascar, volunteering her time at Quincy Animal Shelter, and was known for making lifelong friendships very quickly. Although she loved Boston, Brooke remained a “Jersey Girl” always looked forward to her annual Jersey Shore retreat to see friends and be in touch with her roots. She was a beautiful, sweet girl who would help anyone who needed her. She will be especially missed by her two dogs Toby and Dixie.
Brooke was predeceased by her father Gerald Stephens in 2004. She is survived by her loving mother Josephine Stephens of Weymouth and also many, many friends who became family.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visitation for Brooke on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 from 8am-9:30am in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. A Funeral Mass in honor of Brooke’s life will follow the visitation at St. Francis Xavier Church, S. Weymouth at 10am. In Lieu of flowers donations in memory of Brooke may be made to the Quincy Animal Shelter with a check sent to 56 Broad St. Quincy, MA 02169. Burial will be Thursday at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery located at 52 Totowa Rd. Totowa, NJ.
