Kevin Murphy

Kevin Murphy, age 71, of Weymouth passed away on February 26, 2019. Kevin was born in Boston then raised in Dorchester and summered in Halifax. He joined the Army right after high school and served his country for two years. When he returned Kevin married his beloved wife of 41 years, Debbie, and they settled in Weymouth to start their family.

Kevin worked on the Boston Police Department from 1970-2003 in various areas including the MOP Unit and Special Operations. He was very proud of his service as a patrolman, the friends he made, and the stories he cultivated during his time.

There was nothing more important to Kevin than his family. He made so many amazing memories with his children, grandchildren, and wife Debbie throughout his life including long drives with his wife.
Kevin was predeceased by his beloved wife Deborah Murphy (Brown). He is survived by his loving children Erin Stiles and her husband Brian of Scituate, Kristen Gilmore and her husband David of Plymouth, Kevin Murphy Jr. and his wife Catherine of Haverhill, and Graig Murphy of Weymouth, his grandchildren Kaley, Cole, Camryn, Shawn, Ally, Brianne, Justin, Maddie, Maeve, and Cade. Kevin was the caring brother to Eleanor McGonagle, Connie Gill, Kathleen Keane, Neil Murphy, Richard Murphy and also the late Marie Grabowski, Claire Molisse, and Lawrence Murphy. Kevin is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, his good friend Rick Molisse, and his two dogs Peggy and Rita.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Kevin on Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 4-8pm at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA 02190. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home for a Celebration of Life at 9AM Monday prior to the Funeral Mass at St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 10AM. Interment will be at a later date at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Donations in memory of Kevin may be made to Joannas Place at PO Box 890184 Weymouth, MA 02189.
