Vera Adams

Vera Adams (LeVangie), age 77, had her life abruptly taken from her on July 15, 2018. Vera was a lifelong Weymouth resident who graduated from Weymouth High in 1958. She worked at New England Telephone for several years and then Sullivan Insurance in Quincy for many years where she met some lifelong friends.

Vera lived a quiet, modest life but didn’t let that stop her from enjoying people. She always lit up when she had a chance to see her friends’ children, grandchildren, and her cousins. Vera had a beautiful smile that she didn’t need much of an excuse to show. She will be remembered for her generosity when it was needed, and her kind demeanor. Vera enjoyed reading, having dinner with friends, and her trips to Cape Cod.

Vera was the loving wife of the late Donald Adams who passed in 1993, cousin of Karen Kneeland of Mashpee and Gina Puntiri of Plymouth, niece of Florence Mulready of Weymouth. Vera is also survived by her special longtime friends Judie D’Ambrosia-Rose and her husband Bob of PA, Cynthia MacDonald and her husband Rich of S. Weymouth, and their children Julie Rhodes of Plymouth and Rick MacDonald of Hingham, and Cynthia’s grandchildren who enjoyed Vera’s company very much Katie, Gwen, Drew, and Caroline.

Vera was a kind, private women, Therefore, her family and close friends will be keeping her services private at Vera’s request. She would have loved seeing her community come together not only in collected mourning, but more importantly in such beautiful collected support of each other. We like to think that Vera’s final wish would for everyone to be more kind to each other, setting an example for the next generation. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Vera Adams Memorial Fund C/O Equitable Bank ATTN: Lori DiBona 50 Patriot Parkway S. Weymouth, MA 02190. The funds will be used in conjunction with Weymouth Public Libraries for a memorial project in Vera’s name.
